Open Air Photography

When Katie Stoops sent over an email about her company, Open Air Photography , we were totally struck by her images.  So. lovely. Katie is a photographer based in Virginia, but certainly travels to capture your day.  She recent updated her website with so many gorgeous images and we've included a sampling below.  Also, here is some info about Katie and her process, in her own words...  Enjoy.


I have been doing fine art photography for 15 years, with five years in wedding photography. I am primarily located in Virginia, DC, and Maryland; however, I often travel outside of those areas for couples. I love regular Coke at the end of a wedding (no idea why!), my husband & dog are the two sweetest guys ever, and I use a straw when I drink my Starbucks-ha! 

 I'm not sure if it's because I'm a girl or simply a closet romantic, but I truely love weddings. Probably a lot more than most people do. So, I thought it only fitting that I do something I love on a day when there is nothing but love around. I find so much inspiration and joy in being a part of the biggest day in many couples' lives. I wanted to bring a sense of warmth to my wedding photography. I am not simply there to take a photo, I am there to express the emotion that is present in so many peoples' faces. My biggest goal is to present couples with images that they can look at in twenty years and not only to feel as though the wedding day was yesterday, but to feel that emotion captured.
