Check these out! More fabulous finds from Barney's. So delicate and feminine, and just the right amount of over-the-top. You definitely can only wear them for the "right" event--nonetheless, gorgeous...

Winvian
We recently had the pleasure to spend some time at Winvian the breath-taking Relais & Chateaux located in hills of Litchfield County CT. Winvian is an original farmhouse, which holds the restaurant for the property, as well as 18 cottages, each with their own theme ranging from "Music" to "Treehouse"--our favorite: "The Library." Winvian also is home to an amazing Spa with a fabulous menu of services.
Later this year, we are planning an event at Winvian and look forward to utlizing the Gordon Brown House, as well as having access to the spectacular grounds. It truly is such an spectacular place to hold a wedding or event.

Matteo
Although we are a huge fan of Frette, lately every time we buy new sheets they rip. They don't tear right away, but little holes begin to appear at the seams, which become bigger holes, which then turn into rips. The process usually takes about 8-10 months, and consequently we are constantly replacing them.
After the fourth destroyed set, we've decided to move on and find a new brand. We became a huge fan of Matteo from our stays at Chateau Marmont and have decided to make the switch and begin using them in our own home. Matteo is a fantastic company out of Los Angeles. The sheets are 500 thread count, made with Egyptian cotton and combined various other textiles. If you are in New York, you can find Matteo at ABC Carpet.

Gift Bag Ideas
We love Laura Hopper's new map tote bags! After seeing her adorable totes on Style Me Pretty, we decided that these would make the perfect gift bag for one of our upcoming Spring weddings. The wedding will take place at the bride's family's flower farm in Litchfield, Connecticut. Laura is creating a beautiful map of the farm, church, and other local landmarks--we can't wait to share with all of you!
Due to the location of the wedding, we wanted to incorporate elements of the farm into the gift bags. We plan for the bags to have an organic theme including seedlings, products local to the region, and some of their favorite treats.

The Magnolia Company has some adorable seedlings.
These are super cute too: Small Burlap pouch with "tulip-tree-to-be."
The bride also loves these toparies that we used for a wedding last year. We are trying to incorporate into the reception. This idea also appeared an article for NY Magazine's Weddings Issue "15 Great Ideas. "
13. Think beyond little boxes of chocolate and table mints.
If you’re doing favors, make them personal. “We had a couple who gave saplings—topiaries bought online—with certificates stating a tree would be planted in Israel, through the Jewish National Fund, in the guest’s name ($18 each; jnf.org),” says planner Lyndsey Hamilton. “Do something similar through Trees for the Future, which plants in developing countries, ($.10 each; treesftf.org) or American Forests, which reforests devastated areas ($1 each;americanforests.org).”

Real Wedding: New York Historical Society
Today we have a gorgeous Real Wedding that we produced at the New York Historical Society, a unique venue overlooking Central Park. We loved working at the NYHS because if offers a different vibe for each element of the wedding. The ceremony is held in the grand library, cocktails are in the most modern floor of the museum--with the museum's collection of furniture on display, and the reception is held in a room where guests are surrounded by beautiful hanging art. The bride and groom took the majority of their photos in Central Park and I adore the images of them walking across the street to their wedding, with taxis and the museum in the background. The images truly display the aesthetics of a Manhattan wedding. The always-talented photographers at Christian Oth Studio shot the wedding, and flowers courtesy of Matthew Robbins. More to come...

Louboutin goes Barbie?
Our trusted friend and shoe officianto David @ Barney's, who sends us various email updates each week (of his own photos) with the most recent, fabulous shoe arrivals that have yet to hit the floor, sent us a shoe that intrigued us. The shoe was bright pink and patent leather. And after some research we found that Louboutin is creating a shoe in Pantone 219 Pink in honor of the 50th anniversary of Barbie. Cute. Very pink, but cute. Below is an article about the launch of the shoe during New York Fashion Week in February.
Fifty undisclosed designers will produce Barbie-inspired outfits for the runway, and each of the 50 models will be wearing the pink Louboutins at the show.

Wedding Chicks: Thanks for the Blog Love Ladies!
We LOVE the Wedding Chicks (and their Blog). We are also members of their Preferred Vendor List in L.A. and it's such an honor to be included. Anyway, our friends Chris & Katie Humphreys --photographers extraordinaire--sent them some photos of a "Bride & Bloom" shoot we did with them, and as always, their photos look fabulous. Thanks to Matthew Robbins for coming out to L.A. with us and creating the the amazing florals.
Chirs Humphreys Photography

Katie & Chris sent us over this Havana inspired photo shoot featured in Bride and Bloom Magazine for all of you to enjoy. So in love with the lovely white vases filled with every beautiful shade of green you can imagine. The pops of kumquats are such an added treat.

The lush green flowers provided a colorful and exotic backdrop for the unique stationery designed by Ceci and desserts by the fabulous Amy Berman of Vanilla Bake Shop. The venue was Marvimon, which is a unique loft-type space designed for special events in downtown Los Angeles.
Lyndsey Hamilton, one of our favorite New York City wedding planners coordinated this amazing spread. Such a keen eye for detail and her team always seems to always deliver that, “wow” factor! A job well done.

Dylan & Dillion's Bridal Handbags
We recently received an email from Lindsey, one of the owners of Dylan & Dillion's custom bridal handbags, telling us about her company and their great line of bridal handbags. We thought that the bags were so cute with the wide selection of colors and simple design. Dylan & Dillion's collection is made from 100% dupioni silk, lined in fuchsia brushed twill and finished with a removable hand-casted flower charm that can be ordered in either gold or silver. The handbags also feature a removable wristlet strap that allows you to be hands-free and stylish at the same time. So, you can hold your bouquet and champagne glass without having to juggle everything.
Most importantly, you can be the designer. They offer 47 different fabric colors. The options are endless and the collection is priced perfectly for gift giving ($65.00). If you don't find a fabric color on their website suitable to your wedding colors, they will accommodate by working with you on your own fabric selection for special orders.
The entire Dylan & Dillion bridal collection can be viewed along with ordering instructions at www.dylananddillion.com

Here are some more images provided by Belathee Photography. In some of these images you cant see the whol wedding party walking down the street being led by a Jazz band. This is a really wonderful idea, as long as the weather cooperates. I love the arrangement for the place cards. I want to thank Belathee for allowing us to use their images.

Real Wedding from Belathee Photography
We have a fantastic real wedding from Belathee Photography today. Last week they saw that we were showcasing NOLA venues and suggested that we may like to show images of this event. The getting ready took place at the Monteleone Hotel in the French Quarter, the Ceremony in St. Louis Cathedral at Jackson Square and the Reception at the "New Orleans Board of Trade", also in the French Quarter.
I love the architecture in New Orleans. Anyhow, Belathee provided us with a ton of images, we'll break this up into two posts. The second half will be up later this afternoon or tomorrow.

The End of Our Adventures in New Orleans
Yesterday was our final post about our scouting trip to New Orleans. We actually visited a few more venues, but we picked our favorites for the blog. In a few months we will have some images from our clients wedding to display. This Monday, however, we will be featuring an amazing wedding in New Orleans, with images from Belathee Photography.

LHE on Style Me Pretty
We are so excited today for two reasons: SMP posted one of our favorite weddings of last year AND the same wedding will appear in the premier issue of Well Wed Hamptons Magazine , which also hits stands today! We absolutely adored everything about Kailtin and her wedding and are so pleased that it has been so well received. Check out more photos and information about the wedding at Style Me Pretty (there will be various posts throughout the day) and pick up your copy of the new Well Wed Hamptons magazine!
Abby also had these lovely words to say about us! Thanks Abby--we love the Inspiration from SMP.
Lyndsey Hamilton is one of those planners that you book the minute she has an opening. She just has this way about the events that she crafts…they seem incredibly personal, incredibly real and always, incredibly beautiful. And to be honest, those are the traits that I look for when featuring a wedding on Style Me Pretty. I don’t like to show weddings that are overly designed or manufactured. I love weddings where the couple, the bride, the beauty of the day can really shine through.

NOLA Venue: W Hotel New Orleans - French Quarter
Here are some great images from the W Hotel in N.O. I have to admit, sometimes the W seems a bit too over-styled for me--but I love the Bliss products. However, the New Orleans location is authentic-it has charm, compliments the local aesthetic, and the courtyard is beautiful. This outdoor space is perfect for an event. There are more images on their site W New Orleans. Also, this is the FRENCH QUARTER W, and there is another W in New Orleans. So, make sure to check out THIS location. Again, thanks to TM for the gorgeous images!
